University of Massachusetts - Lowell’s Assistive Technology Program
Where it has been & where it is going
Dr. Michael Darish from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell (UML) has recently taken over the university’s Assistive Technology Program (ATP). UML’s ATP is one of the oldest University AT programs in the USA and perhaps the world and has helped hundreds of individuals and organizations dedicated to the care of disadvantaged persons. The UML AT program has also provided thousands of budding electrical and computer engineers with an opportunity to develop engineering skills by developing, designing, building, and delivering all types of projects for disadvantaged person. This talk will present many of the AT projects that have been done over the years as well as an overview of the current research and projects. As part of the talk Dr. Darish will present a bit of his personal journey into the world of AT and his vision for the new UML ATP program.
