Yeditepe University was voted first among private universities in Turkey by Green Metric, which is an international platform for sustainability and environmental awareness and determines the greenest universities in the world.
UI Green Metric World University Rankings, founded by the University of Indonesia in 2010, annually evaluated the world's distinguished universities in different areas such as infrastructure, energy, climate change, recycling, water sources, transportation and education. The platform ranks higher education institutions according to the total scores they receive from evaluations on each criterion.
This year, 24 universities from Turkey took part in Metric Green's assessment, which is open to all the world's higher education institutions. Participating in the evaluation for the first time, Yeditepe ranked 225 among 619 universities in the world, fourth among all universities in Turkey and first among foundation universities. Ranking 77th in the world, Istanbul Technical University came first in Turkey, followed by Bülent Ecevit University (190th in the world) and Ankara University (194th in the world).
