Yeditepe University Joined the National Quality Movement

Yeditepe University, one of Turkey's oldest and largest private universities, joined the National Quality Movement (run by KalDer) to adopt and realize the basic concepts of excellence.

Yeditepe University, which is among the most powerful foundation universities with its high number and quality of academic staff, strong laboratory infrastructure, accredited degree programs, more than 700 Erasmus exchange programs and a student-friendly campus, has become a part of the National Quality Movement (UKH) run by the Quality Association (KalDer).

The "National Quality Movement Goodwill Declaration", which is seen as the first step towards the creation and development of national quality awareness and the spreading of the excellence model practices of total quality management was signed at a ceremony by Yeditepe University Rector Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl and KalDer General Coordinator Tuğrul Fadıllıoğlu.

Quality Assessment Contributes to a Good System

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl, Rector of Yeditepe University, gave information about the accreditations activities at Yeditepe University stated that accreditations had started with the university's pharmacy, engineering and medical faculties and that the Association of Evaluation and Accreditation of Faculties of Science, Literature, Language and History (FEDEK) had completed their accreditations.

Recalling that in 2007 Yeditepe University Hospitals were the first Turkish University Hospitals Group to be accredited in all standards by Joint Commission International (JCI), the most important determinant of health standards in the world, Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl said that in quality inspected and accredited departments there is a system that is independent of persons and that there were positive feedback about the system.

Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl noted that Yeditepe University is happy to carry out quality studies together with KalDer in the academic field as well as accreditation studies in the academic field.

A Model that Provides Close to Perfect Management of Institutions

KalDer General Coordinator Tuğrul Fadıllıoğlu emphasized the importance of taking steps on quality in terms of reaching the welfare level of the country, expressing that KalDer has an important role in the development and spread of quality awareness through its strong trainer / consultant staff. Referring to the importance of Excellence Model Training, Fadıllıoğlu said, "The Excellence Model is made up of 9 criteria and this training is a model of how to manage an institution close to perfection."
