Yeditepe University’s Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, are supporting the “Food Revolution” created by Jamie Oliver. Each day they support two projects.
World famous English Chef Jamie Oliver, has created a social responsibility project against Obesity. The project is called “Food Revolution”. This year on May 20th, the world will join Jamie in her project on May 20. Yeditepe University’s Department of Gastronomy and Culinary arts has joined this national and international social movement by preparing photographs and short films to be shared throughout the social media arena. This is the first time that a Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, in Turkey, has given support for a social responsibility project.
The first prepared project was created in coordination with the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department at Yeditepe University. The two departments joined together to create a short film titled, “Traditional & Healthy”. The film teaches how to make kisir.
The second project, is a photography project. Students from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts took photographs taken in the department’s garden. They then displayed these photos on a poster with the message, “We are planting, We are Growing, and We are Cooking Healthy Meals”.
