Our Students from the department of Food Engineering received championship award at the İTÜ GMK 2. R&D Ideas Competition

This year, 40 project applications from 13 different universities have been made to İTÜ GMK 2nd R&D Ideas Competition, which is a nationwide open event organized by İTÜ Food Engineering Club, particularly for those studying at departments of food engineering.

Upon the evaluation of interim report forms by the jury, which was the first stage of the competition, first 10 competitors were announced with their projects on 29th January 2016. After listening to the finalists’ projects, the jury determined the ranks of the 10 finalists. Our 4th year students Özge ERMİŞ and Özge SARIKAYA represented our university at the competition.

 

Özge SARIKAYA won the championship award with her projects of “Chia Seeds Mahaleb-flavoured Ice Cream”.

The students’ presentation and posters were evaluated by a jury consisting of Prof. Dr. Beraat ÖZÇELİK,  Prof. Dr. Gürbüz GÜNEŞ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra ÇAPANOĞLU, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ebru FIRATLIGİL, Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilara ERDİL, Assist. Prof. Dr. Gamze TOYDEMİR, Assist. Prof. Dr. Derya KAHVECİ, Dr. Aslı CAN KARAÇA from AROMSA Inc., Altınmarka Food R&D Expert Jülide Gökçe ÇAKIR, Altınmarka Food Project Development Expert Tuğçe ÖZKAN  and Unilever Food Solutions R&D  Director Filiz BAĞCI BEKAR.
