Yeditepe University Faculty of Engineering, Genetics and Bioengineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Kocabas was awarded in the "Scientific Projects" category as part of the “Bring Ideas to Life with Gilead” which is “Gilead Sciences Turkey support program” that has been continuing since 2013.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kocabaş received the award at a ceremony at the Swissotel The Bosphorus for his work in the “Determination of the MEIS Expression Profile in Leukemia Stem Cells and the Investigation of the Effect of MEIS Inhibitors”.
Gilead Sciences Turkey will provide 259.088 TL support to scientific and 140.700 TL support to social projects this year. In this context, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Kocabaş and his team colleagues Prof. Dr. Zafer Gülbaş, Dr. Neslihan Meriç and PhD Student Esra Albayrak will receive a total of 74.000 TL support. Thanks to the support, significant progress will be made in studies on the effectiveness of MEIS inhibitors.
