The official opening of the 8th hospital of the Yeditepe University Hospitals Group in Koşuyolu was held. Speaking at the ceremony, Yeditepe University Founder and Honorary Chairman Bedrettin Dalan said that they will continue to work in the health field and break grounds in Turkey with the power they receive from education.

Yeditepe University, the first private university to have a faculty of medicine, has added a new hospital to its hospital group. Turkey's first antimicrobial hospital, Yeditepe University Koşuyolu Hospital held its official opening ceremony on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018.

Yeditepe University Founder and Honorary President Bedrettin Dalan, said at the opening ceremony “We prioritized our health investments following the establishment of Yeditepe University in 1996. We started working on our university hospitals. We always aimed to provide high quality health services to our people by keeping up with the latest technology. Our understanding of prioritizing human health continues in this hospital. We have implemented many new technologies and applications in our seven branches. Today, we are proud to bring a hospital at world standards to our country”

Stating that Yeditepe University Koşuyolu Hospital is also a guide hospital in the international arena, Bedrettin Dalan said “We applied a harmless microbes-killing boron based molecule, which we developed as a first in the world at the Yeditepe University Laboratories, from door handles to floor coverings, from electrical outlets to wall paints, and to our furniture and equipment.” Pointing out that hospitals should have minimum furniture and decoration to reduce microbes to zero, Dalan continued “You will not see details such as glamorous waiting rooms, carved seats, carpet floors, velvet curtains in any of our hospitals. Because these details contain microbes and might trigger infections. Since we don't want microbes in our hospitals, you can't see anything unnecessary in our hospitals. I know that all hospitals in the future will be inspired by our hospitals.”

Dalan also said “We have designed all corners as concave or convex so that it can be cleaner more easily. In two of Yeditepe’s hospitals we have washable beds, another first in Turkey. After the patient leaves the room, the bed is washed with water at high temperature, disinfected with a special substance, and new patients can use a really clean bed. We invested 30 Million TL only for this disinfection and microbe removal process. In addition, there are antimicrobial filters in the ventilation in both hospitals.”

”Our success is based on the value we give to research”

Yeditepe University Rector Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl stated that they have made significant investments in the field of health to progress every day.
