Yeditepe Successful at the Fine Arts Faculties New Graduates Exhibition

Yeditepe University is taking part with the works of 8 students in Turkey's first collective Fine Arts Faculty new graduates exhibition called BASE.

BASE, which removes the distances that could mean inequality for art students throughout Turkey, brings together the works of artist candidates who graduated in 2017 from faculties' painting, sculpture, photography and video, graphic design, visual communication design, print arts, glass and ceramics departments at the Istanbul Galata Rum School between 21-24 December.

Evaluation by an International Board

Nearly one thousand new graduates from 51 different universities applied to participate in the exhibition, which was organized to support artists in their transition from graduation to professional arts and to be a medium for galleries, collectors, art lovers and creative industries to discover young talents. A total of 116 works of 108 artist candidates from 31 universities in Turkey will be exhibited at BASE, where selected works were chosen an international board consisting of 23 people. Yeditepe University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Graphic Design students Bora Ayonur, Olgun Kaşıkçı, Uğur Demirci, Deniz Çimlikaya, Ali Eroğlu and Musab Abdullah Güngör and Plastic Arts and Painting Department students Burak Çolak and Ali Cem Levent will be displaying their works at the exhibition.

At the exhibition, which was curated by art writer, academician and member of International Association of Art Critics-Turkey (AICA ) Derya Yücel, participants coming from and outside Istanbul will have the opportunity to meet leading names from the art world.

There will be more than 50 speakers at BASE, which also offers various panel and interviews for visitors and participants.
