Eight students from different departments of Yeditepe University were granted the “II. Chinese Consul General Scholarship” by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China for their achievements in learning Chinese.
This year, nearly 60 students from 10 universities received the "II. Chinese Consul General Scholarship "award at the ceremony held at Shangri-La Bosphorus Hotel. The award ceremony began with the opening speech by Cui Wei, Istanbul Consul General of the People's Republic of China. At the ceremony, Istanbul Governor Assistant İsmail Gültekin and Istanbul University Student Melike Aykut made speeches while Yeditepe University Vice Rector. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aydin performed a speech on behalf of all the universities.
The role of universities in the relations between the two countries and the importance of Confucius Institutes were emphasized at the ceremony. Later, students were presented with their awards and plaques.
