War and Women in the 20th Century

The book “War and Women in the 20th Century” by Yeditepe University History Department Master’s Degree student Onur Yamaner is now in bookstores.

The book, which is a collection of researchers from different disciplines, tells the yearnings, struggles, sexual abuses, affections, hopes, pains, losses of women behind the fronts. It also talks about how they have been ignored, used for rhetoric means, been discriminated and experienced all these emotions during the war.

Apart from contributing to the literature as the first Turkish interdisciplinary work, “War and Women in the 20th Century” is a first to understand women history in relation to the concept of war.
