The third of the Tricontinental Conference will take place at Yeditepe University between 22-24 November. The first Tricontinental Conference was held in 1966 in Havana with the participation of a large number of third world countries and the second one last year at Madeira University in Portugal after 50 years.
Eight countries are expected to attend the Yeditepe University Tricontinental 2017 Conference organized by Yeditepe University Political Science and International Relations Department.
The following topics will be discussed at the Africa, Latin America, Middle East and Turkish Foreign Policy themed sessions:
Africa sessions: the Ebola outbreak, the Arab Spring, Boko Haram. Latin America session: Colombian Peace Process, Development, Brazilian foreign policy, paramilitarism. Middle East sessions: Democratization, migration from Syria and identity politics. Turkish foreign policy sessions: the relation of Turkey with these three regions.
At the conference, which was organized by Yeditepe University Department of Political Science and International Relations Assist. Prof. Dr. Volkan Ipek, prominent names like Prof. Dr. Macharia Munene from the Department of History and International Relations of the American University of Nairobi, political analyst and writer Prof. Dr. Joseph Diescho and Prof. Dr. Bruno Martarello de Conti from the Department of Economic Theory of the University of Estadual de Campinas in Brazil will take place.
