A Strategic Investment from Yeditepe University: Investing in Trade & Economics Education

Yeditepe University joined TradeMaster campus platform via strategy laboratory with the support of İş Investment, aimed to make trade and economics classes of Business Administration department more effective and to allow our students keep a close eye on the markets and contemporary approaches in the business world with the aid of up-to-date data. The strategy laboratory is hoped to be beneficial for our students in the ways that they could make use of their knowledge and skills affectively. The opening of the strategy laboratory took place on Tuesday, 9th February. Our university’s administrative staff, academicians as well as İş Investment showed a keen participation at the opening.

The chair of Yeditepe University Business Administration department, Prof. Dr. Güven Gürsoy delivered a speech at the opening, stressing the importance of financial literacy for our students’ personal developments. Complaining that education being provided in trade and economics fields remains much or less at a theoretical level, Gürsoy indicated why collaborations such as the current one were of utmost importance.

İş Investment General Director Assistant Yiğit Arıkök highlighted the significance of raising qualified graduates in their prospective fields, adding that the biggest task and responsibility belong to our students.

İş Investment İstanbul Branches Sales Director Tarkan Akgül stated that their support for this collaboration has been beyond the mere physical investments, stating that they would get our students together with expert investors at the junction, where theory meets practice.

The chairman of the board of trustees of Yeditepe University, Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl thanked all those who participated in the application of TradeMaster campus platform at universities. Bingöl stated that this laboratory, where our students would be able to practice what they have learned in theory in real-life situations, would contribute greatly to academic studies in the field.
