Sociology Department - Şirin Tekeli Research Award

With their research on the relationship of university students with feminism in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Akalın of Istanbul Technical University, Prof. Dr. Demet Lüküslü, Head of Sociology Department of Yeditepe University, has been awarded with the Şirin Tekeli Research Award presented by Sabancı University Center of Excellence on Social Identity and Women’s Studies (SU Gender). Presented in honor of Şirin Tekeli, who was a pioneer in the fields of democracy, social gender equality and feminism and passed in 2012, the award has been presented to Ayşe Akalın, Demet Lüküslü and Yonca Cingöz for this year. Within the scope of the research project, in which focus groups with young people and in-depth interviews will be conducted, Deniz Erol and Elif Oğuz, alumni of Yeditepe University Department of Sociology, will be assigned as project assistants.
