Prof Nuray Ekşi, Chair of Department of Private International Law at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Law, states that readmission agreements are used as a means to fight against illegal immigration, readresses the issue of readmission agreements Turkey has made until now and makes an in-depth analysis of the agreement made with EUROPEAN UNION after the agreements made with Greece, Syria, Vietnam, Ukraine, Kirghiz Republic, Romania, Russia, Belarus and Moldova.
Prof Nuray Ekşi, who reminds that negotiations with EU concerning readmission details started in 2005, analyzes all meetings in detail stage by stage and outlines main principles determined in the agreement as: “coperation, joint responsibility, solidarity and equal partnership.”
