Financial Planning Association and Yeditepe University initiate the first financial planning training in Turkey, hoping to develop financial planning in Turkey. Financial Planning Association aims to lay the groundwork for the infrastructure of financial planning expertise in Turkey and it also aims to prepare the individuals’ skills in financial planning within the framework of professional ethics rules. Financial Planning Association will enter the first agreement about the required training in order to get the CFP license in Turkey, with Yeditepe University Administration Application and Research Center (YUVAM).
A protocol was signed at Yeditepe University for the joint training with Financial Planning Association. At the ceremony held, the chair of board of trustees of Yeditepe University Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl said: “Our students do not graduate from here with only a diploma, they also graduate equipped with the necessary occupational skills. This protocol, for this very reason, is of vital importance”. The president of Yeditepe University Prof. Dr. Nurcan Baç stated that this protocol was extremely prominent, adding that this program would contribute vastly both to professionals in the business world and to undergraduate students.
The chair of Financial Planning Association Doğan Murat Ergin stated: “As a result of our efforts continuing since May 2015, we finally realize this protocol. The biggest advantage of our certificate program is undoubtedly the fact that it is an internationally accredited agreement. We have started out with the aim of creating a new occupational field and we got accepted to the board as a result of a consensus of 25 countries. CFB title is internationally recognized. With these trainings, those who complete the certificate program would possess this title”.
Financial Planning Association functions as the only corporation that holds the authority to give CFP title in Turkey (Certified Financial Planner). Those, who committed to follow the ethics rules published by FPD, worked in a financial companies for at least 3 years, attended the training programs authorized by FPD and succeeded in the written exam, will be qualified to gain the CFP title.
The Financial Planning Training Program prepared via Yeditepe University’s YUVAM within the framework of international standards consists of 15 main topics such as asset management, investment analysis, insurance, law, loan and debt administration, and integrative financial planning
