Orlando: Women's Writing in the British Isles from the Beginnings to the Present is a new type of electronic text base for research and exploration. As a new type of history of women's writing, it aims to advance the study and understanding of literature, with particular focus on the role women play in the development of this field. Along with its literary research, the Orlando Project is conducting an experiment in the digital humanities and looking for ways to leverage technology's possibilities for interpretive and critical science. Orlando has been developed to meet the diverse needs and interests of readers and scientists.
