Ford Otosan Award for the Computer Engineering Department

Yeditepe University Department of Computer Engineering students Gökalp Başol and Mehmet Gürol and department graduate Ceyhun Ertürk received an award at the "Coding the Connected Vehicle" Hackathon (Software Competition) organized by Ford Otosan.

Ford Otosan's competition, which is aimed at two-person teams consisting of third and fourth year undergraduate students, masters and doctoral students and professionals with at least 5 years of experience, took place at the Ford Otosan Sancaktepe R&D Center on November 4-5. In the finals where 26 teams were evaluated, fourth grade students of Yeditepe University Computer Engineering Department Gökalp Başol and Mehmet Gürol were awarded the jury special prize with their projects named "Fuel Consumption Estimation" and the department graduate Ceyhun Ertürk was awarded second prize with the project named "Ford Parental Drive". Ertürk, Başol and Gurol took their prizes at the Openxc Hackathon ceremony.

An Opportunity for All Participating Students

Yeditepe University participated in the competition with students Simge Helvaci, Aras Senova, Yusuf Türk, Baturay Ozcan, Mehmet Gürol, Gökalp Başol, Başak Kurt, İbrahim Furkan Erdoğan, Kemal Doruk Yıldız, Berkay Yılmaz, Aylin Aydın and Berk Ünal. The competition provided the basis for a cooperation between the Computer Department and Ford Otosan while the participant students received long-term internship and job offers after their presentations.
