Assist. Prof. Dr. Barış Gencer: Become a Climate Ambassador

Yeditepe University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Public Administration Department Deputy Head Assist. Prof. Dr. Barış Gençer Baykan participated as a speaker at the Climate Ambassadors Consultation Meeting conducted by Kadıköy Municipality within the scope of "Kadıköy Municipality Integrated and Participatory Climate Action Project".


 
Reduce Food Waste, Walk and use a Bicycle

Pointing out the we should "Read, get informed about and research climate change", Assist. Prof. Dr. Barış Gencer Baykan said:

"Follow special climate-related publications. Talk to your friends, your colleagues and your family. Ask the legislators, MPs and local managers about climate change policies. Vote for climate friendly national and local managers. Become a climate ambassador. Consume food locally and seasonally. Reduce food waste. Support food cooperatives. Walk and use bikes. Reduce and recycle your waste. Plant trees. Reduce the use of plastics. Tell your children about climate change."

 

The Target is 300 Climate Ambassadors

In order to increase support and awareness about climate change, the project wants to find 150 volunteers aged 18-29 and 150 volunteers over 30 years to become climate ambassadors for the "Kadıköy Municipality Integrative and Participatory Climate Action Project" with European Union Pre-accession Financial Assistance (IPA) funding and a partnership of the Kadıköy Municipality and Turkey Europe Foundation as well as a collaboration with the City Council.
