Yeditepe University Strengthens International Cooperation

The UK Four Nations Consortium—a collaboration established by universities from England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to expand partnerships across Türkiye, the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia—visited Yeditepe University as part of its institutional engagement tour in Türkiye.

Organized by Yeditepe University’s Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the visiting delegation included representatives from the University of Hull, University of Stirling, Aberystwyth University, University of Nottingham, University of Worcester, SOAS University of London, University of York, Swansea University, Royal Holloway University of London, and the University of Liverpool.

Welcomed by Rector Prof. Mehmet Durman, Vice Rectors Prof. Ece Ceylan Baba and Prof. İpek Karaaslan, Director of the Graduate School Prof. Alper Altınanahtar, and Coordinator of International Academic Relations Prof. Dr. Yeşim Ekinci, the consortium representatives held meetings with numerous faculty members. Discussions focused on developing student exchange programs, direct admission pathways for postgraduate studies, and, in the long term, establishing dual-degree collaborations.

Following the meetings, university representatives met Yeditepe students at information booths set up in the Faculty of Engineering foyer, where they shared details about study opportunities and scholarship options in the United Kingdom.

Expanding Global Opportunities for Our Students

Expressing his appreciation for the visit, Rector Prof. Mehmet Durman noted that the event marked a significant step toward strengthening Yeditepe University’s international partnerships and expanding global academic opportunities for its students.

“Within the framework of our internationalization vision,” said Prof. Dr. Durman, “we place great importance on advancing academic and research collaborations with universities in the United Kingdom. Such engagements open new doors for our students and faculty. International partnerships in education go beyond exchange programs—they foster joint research, innovation, and sustainability initiatives. As Yeditepe University, we will continue to expand our global academic network and provide a truly multicultural learning environment.”
