International students contribute significantly to our higher education system through cultural diversity, academic engagement, and global collaborations, while also playing a key role in promoting Türkiye internationally. Therefore, increasing the number of international students-who are an essential part of Türkiye’s internationalization strategy-is among our primary objectives.
To attract a larger number of highly qualified international students, the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) has incorporated the International Student Admission Examination (TR-YÖS) into the criteria used in university admission processes for international applicants. Since January 2023, TR-YÖS has been administered by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM) twice a year in 52 countries and 78 test centers, with exams offered in Turkish, German, Arabic, French, English, and Russian.
The first session of TR-YÖS in 2025 will take place on May 11, 2025, with applications open from February 13 to March 12, 2025. For students who miss the initial application period, a late application window will be available from March 18 to March 20, 2025.
