Cansu Ödemiş, a graduate from Yeditepe University Faculty of Fine Arts Fashion and Textile Design Department in 2016 as the top scoring student of both the department and faculty, has achieved great success by being on the cover of Trend Privé Magazine's August 2018 issue with her own collection.
After graduating from the department, Cansu Ödemiş, who started her Master’s Degree in women's clothing in Istituto Marangoni in London, is preparing to establish her own brand. The debut collection she designed within these studies will be in the August 2018 issue of Trend Privé Magazine.
Paying attention to the interaction of fairy tales with contemporary culture in the Spring-Summer 2019 collection "Happily Never After", Ödemiş wants to draw attention to the fact that social media has had influence over the society especially over the young generation.
Ödemiş mentions that a generation which is more obsessive than ever about physical appearance in order to get more followers and get more appreciation and approval has been created through social media and celebrities with the passion of taking selfie. She states that it is not possible for innocent fairy tales to remain as innocent as Disney's interpretations today.
In addition, Cansu Ödemiş emphasizes the changing perception of beauty (aesthetic operations, eating disorders, etc.), social and psychological problems (self-harm, use of drugs and etc.) are becoming widespread in this new society structure. In her Spring-Summer 2019 collection "Happily Never After," she explains these changes and problems in society through fairy tales with a humorous style.
