21st. March World Down Syndrome Day was celebrated like a real festival on our campus.

Sisterhood of the Extra Chromosome at Yeditepe

Our university clubs and other volunteers met on campus on 21st. March World Down Syndrome Day with their chromosome sisters. 15 children and their families from Dost Yasam Vakfı ( Down Syndrome Foundation ) participated in the festival activities. The organization called Fest 21 hosted activities such as painting t-shirts, concerts, sports competitions and kite flying. Around 200 students volunteering for  the event received their certificates for participating in the organization. Fest 21 activity is being planned to be organized annually and has been a significant step for the purpose of raising awareness about down syndrome.
