Teachers Day Celebrated at Yeditepe

Teachers' Day celebrated on 24 November with various activities held at Yeditepe University.

The "Symposium on Innovative Practices in Education" organized by the Faculty of Education and the Graduate School of Educational Sciences was the first event on Teacher's Day. The symposium was held on 23-24 November in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts with the theme discussed "While the world and technology is changing, are learning styles changing as well?"

On November 24th, a ceremony was held to celebrate Teachers' Day by the Faculty of Education and the Graduate School of Educational Sciences. Speaking at the ceremony, Bedrettin Dalan, Founder and Honorary President of Yeditepe University, stated that Ataturk was not only the head teacher for Turkey but also the world and that he freed all oppressed nations with his teachings.

"Education Faculties Should Be A Home for Science "

Faculty of Education Dean Prof. Dr. Ayşe Semra Akyel said, "Education faculties play an important role in being a home for science that collects, questions, studies, reproduces and spreads knowledge beyond being a professional vocational institution."

Graduate School of Educational Sciences Director Prof. Dr. Servet Bayram pointed out that teachers should be made happy and said, "Today, we need Atatürk’s army of wisdom more than ever."

Think Critically, Learn, Question, and Produce

Elementary Mathematics Teaching Department Head Assist. Prof. Dr. Hülya Kılıç made a presentation on the book titled "Think Critically, Learn, Question, and Produce" prepared by the faculty members of the Faculty of Education and edited by herself.

After the ceremony, participants enjoyed the concert by Turkish Language and Literature Teaching Department instructor Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gezer's.

Creative Projects from Era Makers

Era Schools Gaziosmanpaşa primary and secondary school students also exhibited their projects at the symposium on "Innovative Practices in Education". Technology and Design Teacher Mustafa Kasar coordinated the projects of the students who participated in the symposium.
