Preparatory School The Preparatory School at Yeditepe University, whose medium of instruction is English, equips students with the English language skills they will need throughout their undergraduate education and careers. As the greatest necessity of the age, foreign language is taught with all new technologies and educational methods, aiming to make students autonomous in language learning. Students who qualify for admission to Yeditepe University are exempted from the English Preparatory School programme and can start their undergraduate education by obtaining a score of 60 out of 100 in the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam conducted by our University at the beginning of the academic year. Students who do not get enough points in the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam are placed in the appropriate groups where they will receive English preparatory education in line with the score, they get from this exam by taking the Foreign Language Placement Exam. After successfully completing the Council of Europe English Language Standards (CERF) A, B1, B2 courses, they can start their education in the departments they prefer for university entrance. Students in the School of Applied Sciences and departments that take students through the Special Talent Examination can start their education in their departments if they successfully complete the A course. In addition, preparatory education in French, German and Russian is also provided in these languages for our undergraduate and associate degree programmes. 50
