The Department of Translation Studies raises translators who will create connections in the world that the necessity for languages and intercultural communication is constantly increasing; who are proficient in both Turkish and English, who are able to and are trained to translate both written and verbally and who are equipped with all the necessary information in translation studies. Accredited by FEDEK for the second time, in addition to English – Turkish translations, our department provides our students with Russian – Turkish translation courses as well. Starting from the first year until the end of the third year, our students receive intensive Russian courses and in the fourth year, courses of Russian – Turkish Translation I and II courses enable our students to graduate with the necessary competence of translating a secondary foreign language Apart from Turkish, English and Russian courses that would develop their written and verbal translation skills, our students are also able to pick a third foreign language from the choices provided by Yeditepe University School of Foreign Languages. 51% of our students are on a scholarship.
