116 Introductory core courses in social sciences such as Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Social Sciences, Academic Reading and Writing in Social Sciences, Social Issues in Turkey, and 19th century Social History of the World of Mind are offered. Through the courses such as Classical and Contemporary Social Theories, Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods, and Statistics, students are introduced to basic theories and receive theoretical and practical training in social science methods. In addition, students become acquainted with different sociology fields with the courses of Sociology of Law, Sociology of Youth and elective courses. Students gain in-depth knowledge about different fields of Sociology through the courses such as Rural and Urban Sociology, Environmental Sociology, Sociology of Religion, Social Stratification, Gender, Social Movements and Revolutions, Political Sociology. In addition, our students conduct field research and write reports in Field Research courses. YEAR YEAR YEAR YEAR Academic Education Year by Year Upon learning about various fields of sociology such as Identity, Economy and Society, Sociology of Crime and Deviance, the students get the opportunity to focus on Turkey with the course of Modernization, Globalization and Turkey Modernization. Students who actively participate in the research presentations made by different guest speakers in the Social Sciences Colloquium courses offer the opportunity to develop their own projects in the Project Development and Application course and each student graduates with a project.
