Gastronomy and Culinary Arts The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts educates experts who can compete in the national and international arena and serve the food and beverage industry with theoretical and practical knowledge and skills needed for the food and beverage industry. During the four-year undergraduate program, candidates have courses in international cuisine and Turkish cuisine techniques, food and beverage management, food science, food culture and history and they are raised as individuals with the knowledge of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts who can work in various departments of the food and beverage sector. The department also continues its studies in order to explore the rich Turkish cuisine culture in an academic environment and to promote it internationally. Collaborations with International Institutions and Universities Being the first Gastronomy and Culinary Arts undergraduate degree program in Turkey, our department is the first and only department with a patent in the field. University Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts has signed agreements with Food Culture and Innovation represented by the Universitat Obert de Catalunya in Spain and Food Culture Heritage Protection and Preservation of the UNESCO / UNITWIN in France, represented by François Rabelais University, on the Preservation of Food Culture Heritage.
