Faculty of Engineering 2020

Civil Engineering focuses on project, planning, implementation and auditing services to ensure that the physical space and technical infrastructure requirements that will enable mankind to live in a civilized way in a natural environment are safe and sustainable in accordance with technical and ethical rules. The course plan of our department is prepared based on the needs of the sector. For example, undergraduate courses on Earthquake Engineering , the most important structural safety problem in our country, enable students to graduate with a very strong technical background. During their education, students benefit from the Topography, Soil Mechanics, Materials and Structures Laboratories and the Computer, Drawing and Fluid Mechanics Laboratories of the faculty. The Department of Chemical Engineering raises chemical engineers who know modern production technologies, adapt to the efforts of research and development, who are innovative, entrepreneurial, communicative, and have environmental awareness needed by all sectors where Chemical Engineering skills and competencies are required, primarily the chemical industry. Thanks to the qualified education they receive, our students are equipped with the highest level of knowledge in the design, development and use of production processes and tools used for this purpose. Thanks to our strong academic staff, who carry their experience abroad to our university, our department is progressing in the fields of bioengineering, catalyst technologies, nanotechnology, healthcare and pharmaceutical industry in parallel with the development of Yeditepe University. The Department of Mechanical Engineering raises engineers who can diagnose engineering problems, think analytically, and produce solutions to problems, design systems and machines to provide solutions and plan the production of these machines with appropriate methods, and take part in R&D and product development teams. This aim also includes enabling students to acquire theoretical and computational skills as well as application and production experience. Our department encourages our students to participate in national and international competitions in order to acquire qualifications such as converting information into products, teamwork and finishing projects on time. Our students also take part in research projects such as energy production from vibration, mini vehicle driven by live muscle, computer modelling of human spine.
