Faculty of Engineering

246 Career Opportunities Our graduates can work in private, public hospitals, medical design and manufacturing industry, sales, project design, quality, technical service or R & D departments of companies operating in the medical devices industry. Also, some of our graduates continue their academic careers following a master’s and doctoral degrees. In addition to basic science courses such as mathematics, physics and chemistry, students are presented with the Introducation to Biomedical Engineering course where they are presented with the information on current issues. Aside from basic scientific courses such as Biology, Organic Chemistry, and Biological and Medical Physics, fundamental courses of Biomedical Engineering such as Fundamentals of Biomedical Electrical Circuits, Biomechanics and Miomaterials are also provided. Many vocational courses such as Biomedical Electronics, Biomedical Instrumentation, and Biomedical sensors are given. Courses mostly have a laboratory component and experiments are conducted in the wellequipped laboratories of the department. Experiments on medical devices are conducted on specially-designed devices produced for biomedical engineering training. Aside from Medical Imaging and Microprocessors and Microcontrollers in Biomedical Engineering, there are also technical electives that provide fundamental information in relevant engineering disciplines, as well as various sub-categories of biomedical engineering. In the completion project course, by putting the theoretical knowledge into practice, prototype biomedical devices, medical imaging analysis methods depending on deep learning, innovative biomaterials, smart prostheses and artificial limbs are developed.
