274 Mainly science and basic engineering background required for advanced engineering studies is provided. The courses such as Operations Research, Statistics and Computer Programming that establish a background for vocational courses of our departments are offered. Fundamentals of Industrial Engineering such as System Information Technologies, Production Systems Design, Supply Chain Management and Simulation are taught supplemented with laboratory applications. Also, in order to enable our students to understand the industry – academia synthesis better, we have started to have a course in collaboration with DHL, one of the leading companies of the logistics industry. Thanks to the “Systems Engineering Methods with DHL” course, expert managers share their experiences with our students on a case study basis. Students are expected to become fully equipped Industrial Engineers with more advanced vocational courses such as Statistical Quality Control, System Design and Decision Analysis.
