Yeditepe University 8 Ottoman Language 1 and 2 The main aim of this course is to enable students to read printed and written works. This course teaches Ottoman Turkish. Social and Political History The Ottoman Empire and its political and social developments are compared with World States in the process up to the end of the War of Independence period. Examines the political and social events of Turkey from the last century of the Ottoman state to the declaration of the Republic.It examines Turkey ' s political and social developments from the end of World War I to today. It comparatively covers Turkey’s internal and external developments from the announcement of the Republic until today. History of the War of Independence Examines the War of Independence from Mustafa Kemal’s move to Anatolia until the Treaty of Lausanne. It comparatively analyzes the practices of the Truce period, the role of the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the national resistance, the Fronts and Lausanne negotiations. Research Methods It is a preparatory course for the writing of the master ' s dissertation and aims to introduce the resources related to the field and give information about dissertation writing techniques. The aim is to obtain the ability to write scientific articles about the dissertation. Teaches the techniques of finding scientific literature and dissertation writing. Seminar Here students are expected to prepare their dissertation study on a specific subject. This is a seminar course for students’ dissertation study. Term Project Master ' s program students produce projects by integrating information they have learned in their theoretical lectures with in-depth research. It consists of research activities in selected topics in the field. Turkish Foreign Policy during the Republican Period Examines Turkish foreign policy comparatively from the Ottoman Empire until the Republic. Analyzes Turkish Foreign Policy during the Republican Period. History of Turkish Modernization The modernization movements in the Ottoman Empire, restructuring efforts, the conditions of the formation of the Kemalist Thought System and the reform efforts of the War of Independence and the Republican era will be discussed in a cause- effect relationship, including today. Examines the effects of Turkish modernization on people and society. COURSE CONTENTS
