278 Introduction to Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering as well as Academic English courses, and basic science courses such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, which the qualified engineer should receive are given. Basic department courses based on materials science and characterization, thermodynamics of materials, mechanical behavior of materials, phase diagrams, transport phenomena; and basic engineering courses such as Fundamentals of Nanotechnology and Engineering are given. The program is mainly focused on vocational courses and laboratory studies. As well as compulsory courses of Materials Laboratory, Material Production Processes, Characterization of Materials, Experimental Methods in Nano Science, different types of materials are explained in detail. In this sense, Composite Materials, Biomaterials, Polymer Science and Technology and Ceramic Science and Technology courses are given. Students take technical elective courses in the fields they want to specialize in line with the knowledge and skills they have acquired for the first 3 years. In addition to technical elective courses, compulsory courses such as Metallic Materials and Alloys, Design Principles and Materials Selection in Engineering Applications, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology, Surface Science and Engineering are also offered.
