Prof. Dr. Ahmet Arif ERGİN Dean of the Faculty of Engineering In the first two years of education, basic sciences and basic engineering courses, which are indispensable for engineering education, are given which then integrate with the courses offered in the following years and form the backbone of our department curriculum. All programs of the Faculty of Engineering include area-specific elective courses and social sciences courses in order to specialize in accordance with the student’s interests, talent and personal development. Availability of Master’s programs, vast facilities offered by training and research laboratories, conversion of qualified scientific studies of our faculty members into product-oriented projects and patents, their reflections on graduate studies, and the international success of our graduates are other proofs of the scientific competence of Yeditepe University’s Faculty of Engineering. Yeditepe University, Faculty of Engineering aims to raise individuals who are self-confident and have distinctive, multi-dimensional and independent thinking skills, adopt teamwork and lifelong learning. Our graduates contribute to science and technology in the universal dimension as business people who are committed to Atatürk’s principles and revolutions, who have social responsibility awareness and ethical values required by the profession, and the information produced is reflected and spread to the society. In this way, they serve both our nation and the world. Our faculty raises graduates who constantly learn, question and produce, and who are socially and environmentally aware, equipped with basic sciences and professional knowledge, emphasizing the fact that universities do not only provide vocational education. Therefore, the program is designed in a flexible and up-to-date structure and is supported by the double-major programs within and outside the faculty and extensive education / research laboratories. The language of instruction is English and our students have the opportunity to learn more than one foreign language. Our departments, which are audited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK), have been accredited until 2019 and awarded the EURACE quality label and competence and equivalency certificate approved by The Washington Accord.
