Faculty of Education

In the professional environments after graduation, you can recognize the stance and enlightened perspective that the vision and values of the university have provided us. As graduates of primary mathematics teaching, each of us has been trained by expert educators as self-confident, modern, critical thinking, questioning and producing teachers with 21st century skills. During our education, we are given plenty of opportunities in order for us to be qualified educators both academically and socially. With the Educational Support Workshop (ESW) social responsibility project conducted at our department, I was able to experience my profession by applying theoretical knowledge given to us in a classroom atmosphere starting from second year. By also taking duties in Educational Research Club (YUEREC) within the body of the Faculty of Education, we were able to develop ourselves socially and in communicative aspects. Thanks to the common education courses we take in the department, we have the chance to get to know different perspectives on education. In this direction, I started a double major programme with the PDR department. In this way, I had the opportunity to develop and apply myself interdisciplinary in the process of creating the lesson plans we have designed since the second year. Thanks to the internships we do in different schools, getting to know and experience the mission of the schools supports the shaping of our approaches towards our career. In addition, in internships, we can develop the materials and lesson plans we create within the scope of theoretical courses by experiencing them with students. Thanks to the Educational Research Club (YUEREC) of our faculty, we can develop ourselves in areas such as teamwork, social skills and leadership by developing many projects and organizing events for education.
