With our education, after the theoretical knowledge about drugs, cosmetics and medical devices are acquired, we encourage our students to have internships in all application areas of pharmacy and support their career plans before their graduation with long-term internships. Faculty Of Pharmacy 42% of our students are on a scholarship Internship Courses in Application Pharmacy First Faculty of Pharmacy in a Foundation University in Turkey 340 The Faculty of Pharmacy educates leading pharmacists who are committed to ethical values, adopt an individual-specific approach to pharmaceutical care, and who are researchers, creators, entrepreneurs, having high self-esteem, capable of taking senior positions in all units of national and international pharmaceutical companies. Our faculty offers pharmacy education in accordance with national and international quality systems in order to increase the life quality of individuals based on current and accurate information. Our faculty where high level scientific research is carried out in order to contribute to the universal know-how, aims to maximize the health of the society, especially with the leadership of the graduates in the pharmaceutical industry. Accredited Educational Quality The faculty, which was established for the first time within a Foundation University and started education in 2002, was evaluated by ECZAK (National Pharmacy Education Accreditation
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Business Administration Board) and ECZAKDER (Association for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Pharmacy Education Programs) in 2015 and received full accreditation for a period of 6 years and became a pioneer in foundation university faculties of pharmacy. Knowing the importance of quality and standardization in education and research, and being open to development all the time, our faculty applied for a re-accreditation evaluation in 2021 and has been fully accredited for a second time in 2022 January. Career Opportunities Our graduates can run a pharmacy or work as an assistant pharmacist or a second pharmacist. In addition, they can work in various departments of pharmaceutical companies such as licensing, patent, medical, pharmacovigilance, clinical research, research and development (R & D), analytical development (A & D), marketing, pharmacoeconomics, production, quality assurance and quality control, or in hospital pharmacies. Graduates who wish to participate in domestic / international doctoral programs can start as research assistants in universities and benefit from academic career opportunities. In order to guide our students in determining their career goals, the Faculty actively organizes career weeks and career days. For this purpose, many guest trainers from the sector are included in our curriculum. Our faculty provides 24% of all the employed people in the industry. With this rate, our faculty provides a significant contribution to the qualified pharmacists of the industry. 341 International Education Opportunities Our faculty actively maintains Erasmus + exchange programs with 6 faculties in Germany, Austria, Finland, Italy and Hungary. R&D Laboratories for Pharmaceutical Cosmetics and Medical Devices, located within the faculty, our students actively carry out projects aimed to increase university-industry cooperation in line with quality processes. Basic science education, pharmacy terminology and vocational courses to facilitate the orientation. Theoretical and practical courses are organized in accordance with the requirements of contemporary pharmacy. Our students develop their pharmacy practices with their internship courses at the Practice Pharmacy starting from the 2nd year. From the second year of education, our students start working at the practice pharmacy, free pharmacy, hospital pharmacy or pharmaceutical industry. Thanks to our opportunities to have our summer internships and long-term internships in pharmaceutical companies, as well as our practice pharmacy which enables us to experience being a pharmacist first hand before graduation and our opportunity to work on any scientific department we would like in our research laboratories, we are able to experience any field of pharmaceutics even before we graduate. Also, I had the opportunity to work in person without distinguished academics thanks to my duty at the Research Laboratories of the Department of Pharmacognosis. Thanks to the state-of-the-art laboraories and applied courses of our university, my interest regarding the behind-the-scenes part of our field has increased. In this regard, I was given the opportunity to work with our distinguished academics as a student assistant in R&D laboratory. It is my great honor to participate in drug synthesis and analysis for breast cancer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department as well as being part of the activities in Biochemistry Laboratories for the last two years. Apart from the academic aspect, by representing our faculty in Turkish Association of Pharmacists Youth Commission, and I collect unforgettable experiences.
