While the primary language of instruction at Yeditepe University is English, it also offers programs in German, French, and Russian, along with opportunities to learn eight additional languages. ENGLISH PREPARATORY PROGRAMS The medium of instruction at Yeditepe University is English. The English Preparatory School is located in the Rectorate Building on the second floor. Courses are held in the Rectorate Building and North Prep School Annex Building. Each floor has the offices of “Floor Secretary” and “Group Assistant”. Students who will start their education in our university, are given an English Proficiency Exam at the beginning of each academic year. Students who pass this exam are eligible to study in their faculties. Students who fail the English Proficiency Exam or who do not have the required English proficiency, take the Placement Exam. As a result of this exam, they are placed in groups according to their levels. Students who want to study at the English Preparatory School do not have to take the proficiency exam. They will only have to take the Placement Examination. Yeditepe University is an official TOEFL test center. The TOEFL IBT exam is given at our center on certain dates every month. Candidates can check exam dates on the university’s official website. Students who will study in German, French or Russian are subject to a proficiency exam. Students who are successful in the exam are eligible to study in these faculties. Yeditepe University provides its employees and students with healthy nutrition & diet services and seminars on healthy eating led by in-house dietitians. The institution aims to promote the complete well-being of its students and staff. Each individual's eating habits and nutritional needs are unique. Therefore, healthy nutrition programs should always be personalized. Diet plans are created under dietitians' guidance, considering factors such as age, gender, body weight, type of physical activity, blood parameters, family history, living environment, and surrounding conditions that influence individual needs. Adopting a healthy eating habit and creating a sustainable nutrition program suited to one's lifestyle is only possible with the guidance of a certified nutrition expert. The common goal of the Yeditepe University Nutrition and Diet Unit dietitians is to support our students in developing sustainable, healthy eating habits. The Culture and Arts Office aims to bridge the university and the city by bringing current events to the campus. It also coordinates with clubs and departments to provide our students and staff with rich content throughout the semester. During the academic term, the campus hosts various workshops that enrich education, broaden horizons, and bring joy to our inner lives, including Concerts, Culture and Arts Competitions, Writing Workshops, Music Production Workshops, Film Production, Vocal Techniques, and Ecological Printing. In addition, under the "Let's Go" concept, off-campus group activities such as historical tours, gallery tours, theater and cinema trips are planned, offering the joy of shared experiences. Our events cater to all members of the Yeditepe Family, including our employees and students, and require registration through a form. All events are free but limited to the capacity of each event. Our university values the mental and emotional health of its students as much as the quality of its education. The Yeditepe University Psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit (YURES) engages in activities to strengthen students' communication with their environment, assist them in adapting to university life, cope with problems, and develop life skills. Yeditepe University students can seek psychological support from the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit for various issues, including exam stress, adapting to university life, family problems, friendship issues, relationship challenges, and effective study techniques. We provide our students with free individual psychological counseling services, both face-toface and online. At Yeditepe University, we offer teams in Badminton, Basketball, 3x3 Basketball, Arm Wrestling, Cycling, Crossminton, Dance, Fencing, E-Sports, Frisbee, Football, Folk Dances, Handball, Judo, Snow Volleyball, Karate, Skiing, Korfball, Tackle Football (American Football), Cross Country, Rowing, Table Tennis, Archery, Orienteering, Beach Handball, Beach Volleyball, Beach Korfball, Chess, Indoor Football, Indoor Archery, Water Polo, Snowboarding, Softball, Taekwon-Do, Tennis, Volleyball, Sailing, and Swimming. There is no need to apply to participate in tryouts. The days and times for tryouts are announced during the first week of September on our university’s website at www.yeditepe. edu.tr, through social networks, and on announcement posters. Students who wish to participate in tryouts should be present at the location in sports attire. SPORTS

The Office of Individual and Academic Development at Yeditepe University runs various programs to ease new students' transition into university, prepare them for university life, and support their academic development. These programs enrich students' university experiences personally, socially, and intellectually, aiming to bolster their academic success. In their first year of university life, through the support services provided, students discover ways to contribute to their personal development while becoming open to learning, realizing their potential, achieving high academic success, gaining awareness, and building self-confidence. Orientation During the orientation program, new students can learn a multitude of information about their first year; this includes presentations from academic and administrative units, campus orienteering, meeting peer advisors, and visiting student club stands. This enables students to make friends from the first day by participating in enjoyable activities. Peer Advising Peer Advising is a program where upper-class students guide new undergraduate students in their departments by sharing their experiences and facilitating their adaptation to university. After completing their registration, all new students are assigned a peer advisor from the upper classes of their departments by the Office of Individual and Academic Development. Peer advisors contact their assigned students and provide support throughout their first year on various topics, including university life and rules, making new friends, course registrations, study skills, and extracurricular activities. Dormitory Advising Dormitory Advising is created to ease students' adaptation to dormitory life and foster social interaction. After dormitory registration is completed, the Office of Individual and Academic Development assigns students a dormitory advisor. Dormitory advisors introduce themselves and their roles to the students they are assigned to, helping them get acquainted with dorm life, its rules, and social activities based on their previous similar experiences. PrePlus Academy The PrePlus Academy certificate program, run by the Office of Individual and Academic Development, is designed to support the personal development of primarily new students but also all undergraduate students and to keep them informed about current topics in science and art. The program includes various courses, seminars, and speakers during the Fall and Spring terms. Registration dates for the program and conditions for receiving a participation certificate are announced by the Office of Individual and Academic Development at the beginning of the term. Educational Counseling Educational Counseling is provided by the Directorate of Individual and Academic Development at Yeditepe University on topics such as time management, motivation, and goal setting. Actions are taken according to each student's needs within this service. Information needed for making decisions on double majors, minors, and lateral transfers is also provided, encouraging students to make their own decisions. INDIVIDUAL AND ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT

COUNSELLING AND COORDINATION UNIT FOR DISABLED STUDENTS Our unit is responsible for creating individual support areas concerning the physical, academic, and social needs of students with special needs enrolled at Yeditepe University. This includes preparing the necessary academic environment for their education and training processes, taking the necessary precautions, and making adjustments. All services provided in this area are organized by the directives of the Higher Education Council and are conducted within the framework of the "Yeditepe University Students with Disabilities Advisory and Coordination Unit Examination and Unit Regulation." Printed material is available for users through an open-shelving system. Users can obtain their “Yeditepe” email addresses from faculty secretariats or the student affairs offices at their institutes. Additionally, the Information Center Directorate staff provide assistance related to the system.

ACCOMODATION

RESIDENCE HALLS GUESTHOUSE First degree relatives of students can stay at the guesthouse of the university for 14 days with the permission of the Rectorate. Student Residence Hall rooms are either single or double occupancy and include en-suite toilets and showers, mini refrigerators, desks for each student, chairs, glass bookshelves, mirrored wardrobes and other furniture made of non-flammable material. Also, there is a kitchen that is for the use of all the students staying in the halls. 24-hour internet connection is available for students living in the halls who can also make use of at the Social Facilities building. Students can also use the services of the Knowledge Center 24/7. They can also use the restaurants, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness center and squash courts. Doctors, nurses and health officials work 24/7, and available for emergency health interventions for Yeditepe University students. These interventions include examinations, vaccination, small surgical interventions, medical dressing, injections, fluid administration and medical observation services. There is an ambulance available 24/7 in case of any emergency.

SPORTS Our sports facilities consist of open and closed facilities which allow a wide variety of sports events. Located in the -2 and -3 floors of the Social Facilities bulding, 2 closed courts as well open area tennis court as well as open basketball court can be used with a reservation. Facilities are under the supervision of the Sports Directorate. Open Synthetic Grass Mini Football Field: A paid reservation should be made from the Social Facilities Administration located on the first floor of the Social Facilities building. Fitness Center, squash court and both open and closed swimming pools are run by Burçak Gıda ve Spor İşletmeleri A.Ş. and paid memberships are available. We kindly request our students to use the sports facilities with appropriate clothing and shoes. Our indoor and outdoor pools are located at the Social Facilities building (Map: 6). • Requirements for using the pool: Complete urinalysis including Hepatitis B-C, two photographs, and photocopy of ID. • It is compulsory for the students to fill in the Terms of Use document. SOCIAL AREAS IN THE CAMPUS

Photocopy Centers are located in the following buildings; • Faculty of Engineering • Faculty of Fine Arts • Faculty of Law • Rectorate Building All photocopy centers offer computer printout services in color and black and white printing. Blueprint copy output can only be obtained from the photocopy center located in the Faculty of Engineering building. Apart from the photocopy center at the Faculty of Fine Arts, all rooms can print booklets. The Yapı Kredi Bank Branch, located at the Yeditepe University Social Facilities building, provides services to clients in all banking matters. There are also Yapı Kredi Bank and İş Bankası automatic cash machines (ATMs) located on the campus. PARKING LOT A 300-spot student parking lot is located next to the main entrance. In order to use this parking lot (charges a fee), a Yeditepe University car sticker is required. After you become a university student, you will hear many technical terms concerning higher education during your education. Here are some of the terms and their meanings we think will help you: SENATE: It is the supreme academic authority of the university established under the chairmanship of the Rector, responsible for the organization of academic education, making of rules and regulations, and determination of the academic calendar. RECTOR: The academic and administrative senior officer of a university. DEAN: The head of the faculty FACULTY: A division within a university comprising of one subject area of a group of related subject areas involved in academic and scientific research and publications. UNDERGRADUATE: It is a higher education covering at least an eight semesters (4 years) program. ASSOCIATE DEGREE: It is a 4 semester graduate program lasting for two years. DOUBLE MAJOR: In accordance with the criteria of universities, it is possible for successful students to graduate from two departments (with dual degree) by taking courses of another department. MINOR: Successful students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program can receive a minor certificate by taking the courses of another program within the university. TRANSFER: Transferring between the institutions of higher education in associate and bachelor’s degrees. These transfers can be done each year according to the principles determined by the senate within the same university or between universities. VOCATIONAL SCHOOL: It is a higher education institution which focuses on academic studies for a certain profession and is connected to a faculty or directly to the Rectorate. GRADUATE SCHOOL: It is a higher education institution at a graduate level. MASTER’S / DOCTORATE / INTEGRATED DOCTORATE: Education that continues at a graduate level after undergraduate education is completed. Greenest Foundation University of Turkey According to the Greenmetric 2017 and 2018’* Placed first among Turkey's foundation universities at Green Metric's 2017 and 2018 evaluations, determining the greenest universities of the world in terms of sustainability and evironmental awareness, our University is also the only university in Turkey that can produce ıts own electric energy with its rooftop solar power systems within the campus. Being the largest rooftop installation in İstanbul, the systems has a power of 1.000.000 Watts powered by 3850 Axitec panels and Huawei inverter. Also, investment towards a 350 kW wind energy plant to be built on a land that belongs to the University in Şile has started.
