My entry into the department began with the motivation that developed in response to the intriguing content of the courses outlined in the curriculum. Throughout the program, due to the content of the courses and the department’s activity, I can say that I didn’t even realize how the four years passed. The impact of artistic courses, in particular, personally motivated me more. With this motivation, I completed a minor in Fine Arts and Painting concurrently with the Visual Communication Design (VCD) department. After graduating, armed with the references and skills I acquired from Yeditepe, I was accepted into a Master’s program in Media and Cultural Studies in Germany. With every professional step I took in Germany, Yeditepe VCD was an invisible hand on my back, pushing me ahead of other qualified candidates. I consider it important to mention in these lines that I owe my impeccable English language skills, design and artistic perspective, and the technical program knowledge that comes with it to Yeditepe University, Visual Communication Design department. The Department of Visual Communication Design has enabled me to improve my creative thinking, analysing and pushing my limits from the first day I started to the last day I finished. The most interesting aspect of our department was that it was interdisciplinary and gave us ideas from many different fields and shaped our perspective. Thanks to the department, the competence I have acquired has brought me together with internship and job opportunities in different fields.
