The list for the smartest countries of the world has been announced. How accurate is the list? Are being smart and being intelligent the same? Can intelligence be developed? Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yelkin Diker Coşkun, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education at Yeditepe University shared her insights on the News Bulletin of Haber Global television channel. Stating that intelligence is a multidimensional concept and has hereditary, enviromental and socio-cultural aspects, Coşkun also said; “It is vital to answer that how are we trying to measure the performance as an indicator of intelligence. This is crucial. In these tests, we only measure academic success. What makes them more efficient is, fundamentally, a quality education”
